Milagu Kuzhambu Recipe


Ingredients:

• 4 Red Chillies
• 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper
• 1/4 tbsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tbsp Methi seeds
• 1/2 tbsp Coriander seeds
• small lemon sized Tamarind
• few Curry leaves
• 1/4 tbsp Urad Dal
• Oil (preferrably SesameOil/Gingelly Oil)
• pinch of Asafoetida
• Salt to taste
• Mustard seeds
• pinch of Turmeric Powder

Method:
• Heat Oil in a pan. Add the first 8 ingredients and fry it for sometime. Leave it to cool.
• Once coooled, grind them along with salt, asafoetida and water to a fine paste but not too watery.
• Heat Oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds. When they splutter add turmeric powder and the paste.
• Boil it and leave it in simmer until the oil seperates out and the gravy is thick.
• Milagu Kuzhambu is ready to serve with hot rice and Appalams/Pappadoms.
