Palakoora Pulusu Recipe


Ingredients:

• 1 bunch spinach leaves
• small lemon sized Tamarind
• 2 chopped Tomatoes
• 2 chopped Onions
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
• Urad Dal
• Cumin seeds
• Mustard seeds
• Oil
• pinch of Asafoetida
• Salt to taste

Method:
• Soak tamarind in water for about an hour and extract the pulp.
• Boil 1/2 cup of water in a pan. Add chopped spinach leaves. Cover and cook.
• Add tamarind juice, onions and tomatoes, chilli powder, sugar and salt. Reduce till thick.
• Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add urad dal, cumin seeds, and asafetida. Add this seasoning to the gravy.
• Palakura Pulusu is ready to serve.
