Chettinad Prawn Masala Recipe

Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg cleaned and washed Prawns
• 3 chopped Tomatoes
• 2 chopped Onions
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
• Oil
• Salt to taste
• 20 Red Chillies
• 2 1 inch piece Ginger
• 1 Cup grated Coconut
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• few chopped Coriander leaves

Method:

• Grind the red chillies, ginger, coconut, cumin seeds to a find paste.
• Heat oil in a pan, fry the onions till golden brown.
• Add tomatoes and cook well.
• Add the paste, turmeric powder and salt.
• Add some water. Allow it to boil. Reduce the flame and cook till the oil seperates out.
• Add the prawns and cook for about 10 minutes. If prawns are allowed to cook for a long time, it becomes rubbery.
• Garnish with coriander leaves and Chettinad Prawn Masala is ready to serve. |
