Paal Paayasam Recipe


Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup Rice
• 3 Cups Milk
• 3/4 Cup Sugar
• 4 cardamom
• few Saffron strands
• Almonds to garnish

Method:
• Soak saffron in a tablesppon of warm milk and keep it aside.
• Soak almonds in warm water, peel and coarsely crush and keep aside.
• Dry roast rice until it acquires a reddish colour.
• Wash the roasted rice and add the milk and pressure cook until three whistles.
• Leave it on low flame for five more minutes and turn off the flame.
• When the pressure subsides, open the cooker and add sugar.
• Cook without the lid until the sugar blends with the payasam.
• Add saffron, powdered cardamom and crushed almonds.
