Tambittu Recipe




Ingredients:

• 1 Cup Rice
• 1 Cup Roasted Chickpeas/hurgadle
• 1/2 Cup roasted and deskinned Peanuts
• 2 tsp roasted Cashew nuts
• 1 tsp Kas-Kas
• 1/4 tsp white Sesame seeds
• 1 Cup grated Coconut
• 1 1/2 Cup Jaggery

Method:
• Dry roast rice in a hot pan till it turns golden. Allow it cool. Grind it with roasted chickpeas to a powder.
• Mix the peanuts, cashewnuts, coconut, kas-kas, sesame seeds with the rice and chickpea powder • Boil 1 Cup of water. Dissolve the jaggery and leave it to boil.
• Add the rice and roasted chickpea powder and keep stirring till the mixture becomes like a dough to make balls.
• Remove from heat and allow it to cool. Make balls out of it and Tambittu is reay.
