Masala Idli Recipe


Ingredients:

• 12 Idli
• 1-2 Big onions
• 3 Tomato
• 1 tsp Sambhar powder
• few Coriander leaves chopped
• a pinch of Turmeric powder
• few Curry leaves
• Salt to taste
• Oil
• 1 tbsp Ghee
• a pinch of Hing
• Mustard seeds
• Urad dhal

Method:
• Allow the Idlis to cool or use the leftover Idlis and cut it into cubes.
• Chop onions finely.
• Grind tomatoes to a fine paste. (Do not add water).
• Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add urad dhal, hing and turmeric powder.
• When golden brown, add chopped onions and saute till translucent.
• Now add the tomato puree, and sambhar powder.
• Add salt just for this mixture. (Already there is salt in the idli). Mix well. Saute till the raw smell is diffused.
• Add the cubed idli pieces. Mix well till all the mixture is coated in the idli pieces evenly.
• Garnish with coriander leaves and serve them hot.
